Safety is a very integral part Of our daily life and everywhere we are surrounded by hazards now let’s define the term hazard it has the potential to cause harm can be of any form starting from physical to biological it can damage the doers the surroundings and the environment, so to save the lives of the mankind the Scientists, Geniuses had to carve a niche or toy such an idea so that the work of any form doesn’t get hampered and it can be done in the safest manner by keeping the man, environment and the entire workplace safer.
Let’s discuss something about the word safety think whenever we are going to perform any job in the workplace we need to think a lot before making the job into action we need to churn out each and every aspect to bring the job to the safer side but this was not the case in the construction industry before 1974 in the UK and 1970 in the United States until the pact was signed.

Every passing year was bringing more and more casualties, fatalities, illness, absenteeism, and damage to the property and the company and the workforce there were an enormous amount of financial losses due to the increase in production cost, and this lead to loss to the company reputation which led the Scientists and Geniuses, Bureaucrat and Politician of that time to their knees to think deeply and to make or carve an idea to eliminate the hazards associated with the jobs of any form, after several years of indispensable hard work finally they cracked an idea and introduced a new pact in the UK in 1974 as stated earlier and in the United States, the President of the time Mr. Richard Nixon in 1971 on 29 December signed the act that made mandatory for the companies to follow the rule and every workforce has to follow the rule of Safety in the construction.
Ways to implement Safety in the workplace
1.Introduction of the work permit System:-Work permit system is a mutual agreement between the two parties or permission from the client or the area owner after assessing the area the workplace is free from hazards and safer for workers.
2.Training of the workforce:-Prior to deployment on the site the workforce must be given proper training pertaining to the job so that they become aware of all the hazards in relation to the job.
3.Correct tools and equipment:-The tools and equipment which are going to be utilized on-site must be thoroughly inspected and must be having an inspection sticker and color-coding. as per the requirement.
4.Good and Standard PPE:-The correct PPE pertaining to the job must be given to the workforce and training must be provided on why to wear and how to wear them.
5.Establishment of rotation system:-The workforce who are involved in the job must be given proper rest and breaks to avoid fatigue, exhaustion, and stress.
6.Reporting system:-Every unsafe practice, condition, near miss, and injuries must be reported and recorded on time to prevent further recurring.
7.Practicing correct posture:-All the workforce must be sound about how to stand incorrect posture while doing the job to avoid injury.
8.Installation of the emergency equipment’s:-The workplace must be having emergency equipment in the form of a first aid kit, safety shower, etc. installed or stationed nearby the job to be used in case of any emergency.
9.Avoiding manual handling:-Manual handling should be avoided in the workplace to prevent injuries.
10.Use of mechanical equipment’s:-To prevent manual handling injuries’ workforce must be given proper training to use mechanical aids.
11.Ergonomics:-The working environment and the utilized equipment must be managed in a standard manner to avoid hindrance to a healthy workplace.

Safety should be the first and foremost criteria when it comes to performing the job in households, offices, construction, and the petrochemical industry considering this can save the workforce from several hazards which in turn can save the employer from fines by authorities and enforcement agencies.
